Call for Abstracts

The Call for Abstracts for the 2017 PSI Annual Conference is now closed. Many thanks to those who submitted abstracts for consideration.

Important Information
 

Over the course of the three days (Thursday 09 to Saturday 11), the Conference format will consist of:

  • Individual paper/symposium streams
  • Inspire Session streams
  • Workshop streams


In order to submit an abstract you must first register to attend the Conference and then select one of the following options of presentation

  • Individual paper (student or professional)
  • Collection of themed papers (symposium)
  • Poster (student or professional)
  • Workshop
  • Inspire Session it is not possible to submit an Inspire Session via the online Call for Abstracts process. Please click here to view the Inspire Session submission form which must be completed and emailed to conference@psihq.ie by midnight on Friday 16 June 2017


     

All abstracts submitted must be, where possible, in keeping with the Conference theme of 'Living with Uncertainty'


Individual Paper

  • Individual presentations (student and professional papers) time allowance is 20 minutes which includes questions and answers
  • Abstracts should be in keeping with the Conference theme
  • The Conference Team will endeavour to group papers in a consistent way according to topic


Symposium

  • Maximum number of papers per symposium is four
  • Maximum time allowance per symposium is one hour
  • The overall topic or theme of the symposium should be related to the Conference theme


Workshop

  • Workshops must be a minimum of 90 minutes duration
  • Workshops need to enhance participants knowledge, skills or mindset, and be in keeping with the Conference theme
  • Where possible participants should be able to “take away” some key insights on the topic

 
Poster

  • Posters are an opportunity to display, in a graphic and engaging way, your thinking, work, results in a specific area of study or research
  • They can be from students, academics, researchers, practitioners and groups
  • All specialisms welcome, but need to be in keeping with the overall theme

 

Inspire Session

  • Each presentation will be a maximum of 18 minutes
  • The presentations will be along the lines of TED Talks
  • Presentation titles need to be catchy
     


Technical Notes

  • Abstracts for individual presentations, symposia, workshops, and posters must be submitted using the online abstract submission form. Abstracts for Inspire Sessions must be submitted via email to conference@psihq.ie using the correct application form
  • Abstracts should be a maximum of 180 words
  • Please note that all submissions will be adjudicated using the following criteria: 1) Significance of Study; 2) Clarity of Methodology; 3) Relevance to Conference Theme; and 4) Implications for Research and/or Practice
  • Submitters will be informed by mid July whether your submission has been accepted
  • Successful submitters will then be asked to prepare their final presentation
  • Complete technical specifications will be given for each format at that time

 

Terms and Conditions

The following Terms and Conditions refer to abstract submission
 
  • All submissions must be accompanied by the appropriate Conference registration fee
  • This includes all named presenters, including named presenters in symposia submissions
  • If your submission is not successful and you choose not to attend the Conference you will be entitled to a refund minus a €50 administration fee
  • Refunds will be available until 20 working days before the official start date of the Conference. To receive a refund you must send your email request to conference@psihq.ie. No refund will be given after this time
