Submissions available for the PSI Annual Conference are: 1. Individual papers; The presentation duration for each individual paper is 20 minutes, which will include discussion. Symposia traditionally consist of four papers; however, submissions of three and five paper symposia will be considered. Each symposium is granted 2 hours for presentation so successful submitters should adjust their paper presentation length accordingly. Workshops will run for either 1.5 hours or 2 hours depending on the abstract submitted. Abstracts must not contain references and not exceed 150 words. If you are submitting an individual paper, symposium or poster your abstract must have four clear sections as follows: If you are submitting a workshop paper your abstract must have three clear sections as follows: As editor of the Conference Programme, the PSI has the right to amend any abstract submitted and will return for amendment those abstracts that exceed the word limit, or do not follow the recommended format. Symposia (2 hours - traditionally four papers. Three and five paper symposia will be considered). There must be a nominated convenor for each symposium. It is the responsibility of the convenor to ensure the completion and submission of an abstract for each paper to be presented. This information must arrive as a single submission. Otherwise, the symposium will NOT be considered. Time allocated per workshop is 1.5 hours or 2 hours. This activity is intended as a break from conventional paper reading; upper limits to participants may be set if required. If your submission is for a workshop you must provide an abstract. Poster presentations are actively encouraged. Poster boards will be provided by the PSI and placed in the designated poster session area. All submissions should be portrait style on A0 size paper and submitted in high quality/laminated format. The posters are mounted on the poster boards with Velcro tabs. You must prepare for the top of your Poster a label indicating: Ideally, your poster should be self-explanatory. The poster session potentially provides a more intimate forum for informal discussion than the standard paper presentation, but this becomes difficult if you are obliged to devote most of your time clarifying your poster for a succession of visitors. You should have a number of copies of your complete paper available for distribution to interested persons. Information on poster display times will be sent to successful submitters prior to the Annual Conference. This year a prize will be awarded for the best poster in both the Student and Academic/Practitioner categories. Posters will be evaluated on the following general criteria: 1. Importance of the problem for the research domain: And on the following content/presentational criteria: 1. Clarity in stating the problem (hypotheses); Please remember to remove your poster at the end of the Conference. Meetings rooms can be booked online. Failure to submit an online booking before the closing date will result in the PSI being unable to allocate a room for the meeting. Late submissions will not be considered and the PSI cannot undertake to allocate a room where a late request is received. The meeting organiser must provide any equipment required. For individual papers, symposia and workshops (but not meetings), a PC and data projector will be provided. The presentation must be loaded from your CD or USB Flash Memory 30 minutes before the start of the session. A member of the Conference Support Team will be available to assist you. Non-member psychologists are welcome to participate in the conference, as are non-psychologists. Some presentations may be restricted to PSI members. In the selection of submissions for the programme, the committee will take into account the number of contributions submitted by an individual with a view to maximising participation. The outline below suggests possible formats for contributions; however, innovative ideas are always welcome.
