Psychology at NTU

Our Psychology Division is one of the largest in the country, with over 50 academic experts covering all core areas of the discipline.  We share a commitment to promoting our understanding of how psychology can play an  invaluable role in society and this commitment is reflected particularly in our focus on theoretically informed, applied research.

We’re passionate about teaching and research and our innovative courses draw upon the research expertise of our staff.  Our research has been supported by prestigious external funding bodies such as ESRC, EPSRC Leverhulme, government departments, public sector organisations and the commercial sector.

We have invested in our laboratory suites ensuring students have access to the latest equipment and software as well as specialist laboratories dedicated to particular areas of interest in Psychology.

We offer a range of postgraduate psychology courses including:

·         MSc / PG Dip Psychology – A BPS accredited conversion course designed for graduates of other disciplines or whose first degree is not recognised by the BPS. Entry onto the MSc Psychology does not require you to have studied any psychology previously.

·         MSc Applied Child Psychology

·         MSc Forensic Mental Health

·         MSc Forensic Psychology (BPS accredited)

·         MSc Psychological Well-Being and Mental Health

·         MSc / MRes Psychological Research Methods

You can choose to study either one year full-time or two years part-time.


Masters Scholarships

The School of Social Sciences will be offering a number of competitive Scholarships up to the value of half the tuition fee for the academic year 2012 / 13. The Scholarships are available to UK / EU students who have been offered a place to study on their chosen full time or part time Masters Programme within the School. Further information about the Scholarships can be found on the School of Social Sciences website.

The deadline for Scholarship applications is 17 August 2012.
