To improve the delivery of treatment to patients with migraine by addressing areas least well understood in care pathways for headache, including the management of the psychological impact of chronic neuropath pain. To encourage healthcare practitioners and allied health professionals to continue to increase their knowledge of migraine in order to improve outcomes for patients.

Teaching Objectives:

  • To introduce participants to the range of medical and psychosocial approaches to managing migraine and chronic pain
  • To enhance participants’ capacity to support chronic migraine sufferers and promote positive self management techniques
  • To increase participants’ awareness of and response to migraine and other headache disorders in order to reduce the number of patients unnecessarily referred to hospital clinics
  • To encourage increased support for service development for migraine/chronic pain patients
