About Us

For the purpose of the SIGPPP, a psychologist in private practice is an independent psychologist practitioner operating in a full-time or a part-time capacity in any recognised field of psychology.

Purpose of the SIGPPP

The purpose of the SIGPPP is to support and address the professional concerns of psychologists who are working in private practice in relation to any matters relevant to the running of their professional practice that are not already addressed by other appropriate Divisions of the PSI.

Objectives of the SIGPPP

  • To provide a means of supporting and addressing the professional needs and interests of psychologists in private practice.
  • To advocate for psychologists in private practice within the PSI and externally.
  • To provide a forum for SIGPPP members to network with other psychologists in private practice and share relevant experience, knowledge, resources and expertise.
  • To explore and facilitate the establishment of a private practice-based research network.
