The aim of this group is to bring together the research, current clinical practices, and lived experiences of a variety of clinical presentations from a trauma- informed perspective. To provide a network of information sharing, discussion, research and professional Support in relation to trauma informed practice.
To provide opportunities for training and professional development in the area of Trauma informed practice.
To inform service development and provision at a national level.
The purpose of the SIGTA is to provide a forum for psychologists and health Professionals with an interest in trauma informed practice and research. The group aims to increase awareness of trauma informed practice through continuing professional development and providing a space for discussion to promote and increase the provision of trauma informed practice. The SIGTA will aim to achieve these objectives by providing talks and workshops. The SIGTA aims to promote awareness of lived experiences of service-users.

This group is accessible and open to academics, allied health professionals, and anyone interested in the topics or events held to bring theory and practice together and integrating lived experiences relevant to the topic.
The Special Interest Group in Trauma and Adversity (SIGTA) aims to bring together research, current clinical practices, and lived experiences of a variety of clinical presentations from a trauma- informed perspective
SIGTA aims to do this by:
- Providing a network of information sharing, discussion, research, and professional support in relation to trauma-informed practice.
- Providing opportunities for training and professional development in trauma-informed practice.
- Informing service development and provision at a national level.

Membership is open to any Member of the Psychological Society of Ireland.
To encourage multidisciplinary and varied perspectives, Associate Members are also welcome to join.
Application for full membership is for graduate/ chartered members who are currently in employment.
Associate membership is open to student members or those with low/no wage.
