Division of Health Psychology - Psychology Health & Medicine Conference 2024

This is the annual conference of the Division of Health Psychology, to be held in person. There will be two keynote speakers (one international), an oral three-minute lightning talk and poster presentations.


Speaker bios


Professor Frank Doyle is an Associate Professor in Psychology at RCSI. His wide-ranging research interests include depression, psychometrics, health behaviours, and complex interventions. Professor Doyle has contributed to policy internationally and his research has been supported by national and international funders. Professor Doyle was Chair of the Division of Health Psychology from 2013-2015, and 2017-2018, and has been a Fellow of the Psychological Society of Ireland since 2019. He was elected as a Fellow of the European Health Psychology Society in 2022.

Professor Anna Whittaker is a Professor in Behavioural Medicine, a Chartered Health Psychologist, and a Fellow of the British Psychological Society working at the University of Stirling in the areas of Physical Activity and Health, Behavioural Medicine, Psychoneuroimmunology, and Cardiovascular Psychophysiology. Professor Whiitaker's research takes an inter-disciplinary mixed methods approach and the main topics are 1) Ageing and physical activity effects on health and wellbeing, particularly on physical function and psychological wellbeing, where she is engaged in projects to examine the synergistic impact of ageing and behavioural factors such as physical activity, social interaction and use of digital technology, on indices of physical frailty, immunity, and psychosocial wellbeing; 2) Cardiovascular stress reactivity and its associations with mental and physical health.
